§ Mr. ChatawayThe information is given in "Trade and Industry" for 15th June. This shows that the value of new motor vehicles sold by the motor distribution and garage trades increased by 32 per cent.
§ Mr. ChapmanWhile grateful for that reply, may I ask my right hon. Friend whether in fact there has been as great an increase in the number of vehicles sold as in the value, and also in the export sales as well?
§ Mr. ChatawayI think it would be fair to say that it is not as yet, and if output has not kept pace with demand entirely it appears to be because of the industrial disputes from which the motor industry has suffered over recent months.
