HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 c721
Mr. Mawby

I beg to present the humble Petition of the fishermen of South Devon, the inshore shell fishermen and trawler men and others. To paraphrase, they are concerned with the damage which may be created by the ending of the Fishery Limits Act, 1964 and also with the inadequacy of the naval patrol vessels looking after fishery protection. The Petition goes on: Wherefore your Petitioners pray your honourable House do retain the Fishery Limits Act 1964 for an unlimited period, and your honourable House establishes an adequate Naval patrol system competent to protect all areas under their conrol. And your Petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.

To lie upon the Table.
