§ Queen's Recommendation having been signified—
§
Motion made, and Question proposed,
That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make provision for agreements for the protection of certain ancient monuments and consequential provision for payments under such agreements out of moneys provided by Parliament to occupiers of land which is the site of such a monument, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of
810
moneys provided by Parliament of any expenses of the Secretary of State under that Act.—[Mr. Patrick Jenkin.]
§ Mr. Arthur Lewis (West Ham, North)On a point of order. I think I am right ill saying that if an hon. Member objects to provisions of this kind and to this Question it cannot be proceeded with, it being after 10 o'clock. It is now past 10 o'clock and there has been no suspension of the rule. I therefore object—
§ Mr. SpeakerOrder. I do not think the hon. Gentleman is correct about this.
§ Mr. SpeakerThe hon. Gentleman may not have been aware that I was dealing with the Field Monuments Bill.
§ Mr. SpeakerOrder. I collected the voices and the Field Monuments Bill was given a Second Reading. I then moved on to the Field Monuments [Money] Resolution. I am aware of the matter to which I think the hon. Gentleman attaches some importance, and that will arise later.
§ Question put and agreed to.
