§ Q7. Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the Prime Minister if he will appoint a grocer to the Central Policy Review Body.
§ The Prime MinisterI would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Birmingham, Northfield (Mr. Carter) on 7th December.—[Vol. 847, c. 501.]
§ Mr. HuckfieldHow many complaints has the Prime Minister had from grocers since the television broadcast he did the other night, when he told everyone to do their shopping in supermarkets? Is it the case that even if grocers wanted to keep down prices they could not do so because the present Government's, or Heathco's, prices freeze policy is a gigantic farce?
§ The Prime MinisterI have had no complaints of that kind and I have made none to myself.
§ Mr. MilneIs the Prime Minister aware that, unlike himself, I am by qualification and training a grocer? When he is considering the composition of this review body, will the right hon. Gentleman undertake to consider my qualifications for appointment?
§ The Prime MinisterI shall, indeed, but I would not want to enter into competition with the hon. Gentleman.
