HC Deb 26 April 1972 vol 835 cc1523-4
13. Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made by the working party set up by his Department to examine the use of tacographs; when he expects to receive a report; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Peyton

It is making useful progress.

Mr. Huckfield

Does not the Minister realise that he has been saying that since last November? This is a most important matter which ought to be considered very carefully. Does not the right hon. Gentleman understand that the unions are concerned, the operators are concerned and especially the manufacturers of tachographs are concerned? When is he going to do something about it?

Mr. Peyton

When the time is ripe.
