HC Deb 21 April 1972 vol 835 cc966-7

Question proposed, That the Clause stand part of the Bill

Mrs. Castle

The Bill shall come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by order appoint". May we have an assurance from the Government that they do not intend to frustrate the decision of the House by refusing to appoint an early day for this purpose?

Mr. Dean

The Bill is still before Parliament, and I am sure that the right hon. Lady does not expect me to comment on a Clause which has not yet been passed.

Question put and agreed to.

Clause 2 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Bill reported, without Amendment.

Motion made, and Question, That the Bill be now read the Third time, put forthwith pursuant to Standing Order No. 56 (Third Reading), and agreed to.

Bill accordingly read the Third time and passed.
