§ The Prime Minister, supported by Mr. Secretary Maudling, Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary Sir Keith Joseph, Mrs. Secretary Thatcher, Mr. Secretary Campbell, Mr. Secretary Walker, Mr. Secretary Davies, Mr. Christopher Chataway, and Mr. David Howell, presented a Bill to amend the law relating to pensions and other similar benefits payable to or in respect of persons in certain employment; to provide for distribution without proof of title of certain sums due to or in respect of certain deceased persons; to abolish the Civil Service Committee for Northern Ireland; to repeal section 6 of the Appropriation Act, 1957; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed.
