§ 15. Sir B. Rhys Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services who are now the members of the National Insurance Advisory Committee; and what interests they represent.
§ Sir K. JosephMembers of the National Insurance Advisory Committee are not appointed as representatives. Of the chairman and eight members, however, four are required to be appointed after consulting certain organisations. I will, if I may, circulate the names and the organisations consulted, in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Sir B. Rhys WilliamsWould my right hon. Friend ensure in future that the Advisory Committee includes someone who is an expert on modern methods of handling data, including electronic data processing?
§ Sir K. JosephI would not like to give that commitment because my Department disposes of ample advice on that subject and the National Insurance Advisory Committee itself relates more to the substance of the insurance scheme.
