Mr. Bruce MilanOn a point of order. Could you, Mr. Speaker, tell the House whether you have had a request from the Secretary of State for Employment to make a statement on the Rolls-Royce redundancies in view of the news—
§ Mr. SpeakerOrder. If I had had such a request I would have called the right hon. Gentleman. I do not think any point of order arises.
§ Mr. William HamiltonFurther to that point of order. The headlines in all the Scottish papers today say that there are to be 2,000 redundancies at Rolls-Royce in Scotland. It is an insult to this House that the Press get to know these things, as do people in Scotland, and that the last people in the country to know are Members of this House.
§ Mr. SpeakerOrder. With respect to the hon. Member, headlines in the newspapers are not matters of order for me.
