HC Deb 08 June 1971 vol 818 cc854-5
29. Mrs. Doris Fisher

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has yet agreed the amendment of the regulations on tractor safety cabs.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

It would be for the House to agree any amendment proposed after the statutory consultations that are still in progress.

Mrs. Fisher

Will the Minister consider the noise level, because the majority of people are most irritated by excess noise? Will he make a study of the decibel level which farm workers have to tolerate when operating in safety cabs?

Mr. Stodart

It is a factor of which I am well aware from personal experience. This matter has been put forward by the National Union of Agricultural Workers, and I assure the hon. Lady that the point is being studied very carefully.
