HC Deb 22 July 1971 vol 821 c1689
Mr. Speaker

Perhaps it will help the House if I inform hon. Members that for the debates on Tuesday, 27th July, on the Second Reading of the Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 2) Bill, hon. Members may hand into my office at 9.30 a.m. on Monday, 26th July, their names and the topics they wish to raise. The ballot will be carried out as on the last occasion. Hon. Members may hand in only their own name and topic. Debate on this Bill is, in the words of Erskine May, page 729 of the 18th edition : … commensurate with the whole range of administrative policy. It governs, for example, the Estimates for the current financial year, laid before Parliament in May last, and the revised Supplementary Estimates presented since then—House of Commons Papers 400, 424, 425 and 426. It will be in order on the Second Reading to raise any topic falling within the compass of these Estimates. I will put out the result of the ballot later on Monday, 26th July.
