§ 17. Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions the Greater London Council and the London Transport Executive have held with him concerning transport planning in Hackney.
§ Mr. DavisIs not this disgraceful? Does the hon. Gentleman think it right that, despite the protests of my local authority and tenants' associations in Hackney, thousands of my constituents are deprived of any effective bus service? Is that sort of situation in accordance with our democratic procedures? What rights have my constituents in these matters?
§ Mr. HeseltineThey have every right to appeal to the appropriate transport authority. That is not my right hon. Friend.
