HC Deb 26 January 1971 vol 810 cc313-4
Q4. Mr. Sheldon

asked the Prime Minister if he will invite M. Emile van Lennep, the Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, for official talks at No. 10 Downing Street.

The Prime Minister

No, Sir.

Mr. Sheldon

When he eventually meets him, will the right hon. Gentleman discuss with him the Prime Minister's speech of 16th June of last year in which, apart from his famous references to prices, he promised to reduce unemployment and to increase production immediately? Has the right hon. Gentleman any more of his favourite prophecies to make to us?

The Prime Minister

The question of dealing with M. Emile van Lennep on matters of policy is for my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
