HC Deb 13 January 1971 vol 809 cc43-4
15. Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what study he is making of drug-taking among school pupils.

Mr. Edward Taylor

The subcommittee of the Consultative Committee of Medical Officers of Health, whose report on drug misuse in Scotland was issued last May, has been reconvened and will keep this matter under review.

Mr. Dalyell

I should like to thank the Secretary of State for allowing me to discuss this subject in depth with his senior medical advisers and civil servants, but what is meant by "under constant review"?

Mr. Taylor

What is meant is that we have decided to reconvene this committee so that advice will be made available to us on which action can be taken whenever appropriate.
