HC Deb 09 December 1971 vol 827 c1498
Q2. Mr. Ashton

asked the Prime Minister whether he will pay an official visit to Rhodesia in the constituency of Bassetlaw.

The Prime Minister

No, Sir.

Mr. Ashton

Is the Prime Minister aware that my constituents in Rhodesia will be very disappointed with that answer? They would like to question the right hon. Gentleman on the five new principles introduced into Rhodesia, namely, higher prices of school dinners, higher prices generally, higher unemployment, higher rents and no school milk. Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that many of them feel that they have been sold out in view of the promises of the party opposite at the last election?

The Prime Minister

Clearly what the hon. Gentleman dislikes is that we have been carrying out our promises.

Mr. Heffer

Silly old fool.
