HC Deb 08 December 1971 vol 827 cc1295-6
41. Mr. Ashton

asked the Lord President of the Council what representations he has received following damage to employees' and Members' cars in the precincts during the demonstration on Wednesday, 24th November.

Mr. Whitelaw

None, Sir.

Mr. Ashton

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that I have received representations from a member of the Post Office staff the roof of whose car was severely damaged and who is hardly in a position to cover such damage by insurance? If the right hon. Gentleman receives representations, will he consider whether the cost could be paid out of some form of voluntary fund of the House?

Mr. Whitelaw

I have not received any such representations, but if I do, I will, naturally, consider them in the normal way.
