Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the Oil in Navigable Waters Acts 1955 and 1963 and section 5 of the Continental Shelf Act 1964, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Secretary of State—

  1. (a) in any action taken or authorised by him for the purpose of preventing or reducing oil pollution, or the risk of oil pollution; and
  2. (b) in paying compensation for damage suffered by any person as a result of any action taken or omitted for that purpose.—[Mr. Anthony Grant.]
