§ Mr. Arthur Probert, supported by Mr. Leo Abse, Mr. Edward Gardiner, Mrs. Jill Knight, Mr. G. Elfed Davies, Mr. Brynmor John, Mr. Richard Kelley, Mr. Daniel Awdry, Mrs. Lena Jeger, and Mr. Norman St. John-Stevas, presented a Bill to extend in certain cases the time limit for bringing legal proceedings where damages are claimed which consist of or include damages for personal injuries or in respect of a person's death, and to amend accordingly the Limitation Act 1939, the Law Reform (Limitation of Actions, &c.) Act 1954, and the Limitation Act 1963; to provide that in assessing damages for widows suing under the Fatal Accident Acts, remarriage prospects shall be left out of account; to make further provision for the payment of interest on damages, and to amend accordingly the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1934 and the Administration of Justice Act 1969; and for purposes connected therewith: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time upon Friday, 29th January and to be printed.
