§ 36. Mr. Wolrige-Gordonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has come to any decision on the introduction of the Minimum Prices Scheme and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. BuchanI would refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Aberdeen, South (Mr. Dewar) on 26th February.—[Vol. 796, c. 411.]
§ Mr. Wolrige-GordonHas the hon. Gentleman yet made a decision about the effective date of the introduction of this scheme? When the Minister of Agriculture sails into calmer waters following the Price Review, will the Minister urge on him the necessity of extending the scheme to cover the whole country as soon as possible?
§ Mr. BuchanThe order is now being laid. It will be discussed in the House, when there will be an opportunity to comment on it. When it will be discussed is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Leader of the House. As regards the United Kingdom scheme, this is primarily a matter on which the initiative rests on the White Fish Authority.
