HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc31-2
53. Spriggs

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what is the composition of the Post Office Board; and whether he is represented on it when negotiations are in progress with the Civil and Public Services Association.

Mr. Stonehouse

With permission, I will circulate information about the composition of the Post Office Board in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The answer to the second part of the Question is "No".

Mr. Spriggs

Will my right hon. Friend ensure that when talks are broken off between the board and the association they are continued?

Mr. Stonehouse

I understand from the Post Office that the negotiations with the C.P.S.A. Executive are concluded and that a ballot is now in progress about a particular proposal. It would be wrong for me to comment at this stage.

Following is the information: With the exception of Messrs. Ryland, Merriman and Laver, all members of the board were appointed from outside the Post Office.
