§ 3. Mr. Gordon Campbellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate he has now received as to when the Commission on the Constitution will present its report.
§ Mr. CallaghanIt is too soon for the commission to be able to estimate when its work will be completed.
§ Mr. CampbellDoes this mean that the Government have no idea when the report and the recommendations will become available, and is there any arrangement to enable a report on Scotland to be made before the final report?
§ Mr. CallaghanThe commission might get on a little quicker if the Scottish Members of Parliament and the Scottish Conservative Party would submit some evidence, instead of quarrelling amongst themselves about the nature of the constitutional assembly that has been promised by the Leader of the Opposition.
