HC Deb 20 July 1970 vol 804 cc31-2
66. Mr. Nigel Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will authorise from public funds a sum of money to be made available to the Women's National Cancer Control Campaign, in order to make women aware of the wisdom of having cervical smear tests.

The Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Mr. Michael Alison)

The Health Education Council, which is financed from public funds, has recently lent £2,000 to the Women's National Cancer Control Campaign and has indicated readiness to give further help, if necessary, with particular expenses the Campaign expects to incur.
