asked the Minister of Transport if he will take steps to maintain and restore the right of navigation on inland waterways.

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to nagivation rights on the inland waterways of the British Waterways Board. This is one of the matters which my right hon. Friend will be reviewing in due course.

Mr. Wells

I hope that my hon. Friend will give sympathetic consideration to the representations made to him by the various bodies of canal users.

Mr. Heseltine
