asked the Minister of Technology if he will publish a White Paper on the future structure of the steel industry.

I am still studying the structure of the steel industry.

Mr. Mackenzie

In view of the hon. Gentleman's pledges that he proposes to denationalise certain parts of the industry, we on this side of the House would certainly like to hear very quickly what his investment plans are, especially whether the £100 million which is likely to be invested by the British Steel Corporation over the next five years stands and whether we are still to expect an iron ore terminal on the Clyde Estuary?

We made it clear that we would wish to study the position of the industry as we found it on taking office.

Mr. Jay

Is there any subject on which the Government will be able to make up their mind, at least by the Summer Recess?

Sir J. Eden

On this point, I would hope so.
