asked the Minister of Technology what orders have been received for Blue Streak this year; and whether he will make a statement about the future of this launcher.

Mr. David Price

No orders for additional Blue Streak vehicles have been received this year. The future of this launcher depends on the outcome of discussions on a possible production programme for Europa I and II vehicles which are due to take place at the forthcoming European Space Conference.

Mr. Mallalieu

In the meantime, may I assume that production facilities are being kept in being?

Mr. Price

Yes. The hon. Gentleman is right in his assumption.

Mr. Marten

Is Europa III being discussed, too?

Mr. Price

My hon. Friend will know the result of the action of the previous Government. We are not now involved in Europa III.
