asked the Minister of Technology if he will make a statement on the proposals for a BAC3-11 aircraft.

Mr. Rippon

The examination of B.A.C.'s request for launching aid for this aircraft is continuing. I will make a statement as soon as possible.

Mr. Marten

Will the Minister bear in mind the great success of the B.A.C. series of civil aircraft? By going ahead with the BAC3-11, Britain would stay with the subsonic class of aircraft, and this has the support of many hon. Members on this side of the House.

Mr. Rippon

Those are highly relevant considerations.

Does "as soon as possible" means before 24th July?
