§ Q2. Mr. Laneasked the Prime Minister if he proposes to visit the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the near future.
§ The Prime MinisterI have no plans to do so at present, Sir.
§ Mr. LaneIf the right hon. Gentleman does visit Luxembourg, will he seek the agreement of the Luxembourg Government, and other Governments who were at the recent W.E.U. meeting, to his telling the House precisely what assurance the Foreign Secretary is reported to nave received recently that further steps towards political co-operation among the Six would not be taken without British participation? Or perhaps the right hon. Gentleman could tell us right away.
§ The Prime MinisterI do not think that I need go to Luxembourg to discuss this with the leaders of the Six. The hon. Gentleman is free at any time to put down questions to my right hon. Friend about the W.E.U. meeting. I think that most of those who attended it, or have read the report of it, have said that it was quite a successful meeting.
