HC Deb 21 January 1970 vol 794 cc510-1
Mr. Wolrige-Gordon

On a point of order. May I ask the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has had any news, and, if so, can make any statement, about the terrible tragedy that happened to the Fraserburgh lifeboat, of which news has come in this morning?

Mr. Speaker

Order. This is a serious matter. I have heard no word of the Secretary of State's wishing to make a statement.

The Secretary of State for Scotland (Mr. William Ross)

Further to that point of order. I cannot tell the hon. Gentleman very much. All we know is that the lifeboat has been found overturned. The latest news that we have from the tapes is that three men have been saved. I do not know how authentic these reports are.
