§ Mr. WinnickOn a point of order. Mt. Speaker. I seek your guidance. Is there any way of finding out when we may have a further statement from the Government Front Bench on relief aid to Nigeria? The latest reports are extremely worrying and disturbing. We were told on Monday that there was a likelihood, at least, of a further statement. I am sure that many right hon. and hon. Members are deeply distressed at the latest reports, and I hope that we may have a statement, if not today, at least by tomorrow.
§ Mr. SpeakerI do not question anything said by the hon. Member. Everybody in the House has been concerned about the sorrow in Biafra for the last 518 two years. None of us has a monopoly of sympathy for the people of Biafra, but the hon. Member wants personal guidance. There will be a Business question tomorrow, when the hon. Member will have an opportunity of asking the Leader of the 1-louse about this.
§ Mr. WinnickFurther to that point of order, Mr. Speaker. I appreciate what you have said, that there is no monopoly of sympathy on either side of the House, but it is not a matter of a Business statement or questions being asked tomorrow. What I should like, if possible, is a statement tomorrow, but certainly before the weekend.
§ Mr. SpeakerI understand the hon. Member's point. I was trying to explain that I was not endeavouring to brush down his point of order. This is a human problem. I was explaining how the hon. Member could make the point that he wishes to make to the Leader of the House tomorrow.
