HC Deb 16 February 1970 vol 796 c7
10. Mr. Probert

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will set up a working party to consider the problems caused by straying %animals and to make proposals thereon.

Mr. George Thomas

I am considering my hon. Friend's suggestion in consultation with my colleagues concerned.

Mr. Probert

Is my right hon. Friend aware that this Answer was given to me as long ago as June, 1968? Is not the only solution to the problem, apart from the legislation now going through the House, greater co-operation and co-ordination between the farming community and local authorities?

Mr. Thomas

I am very anxious that there should be such co-ordination, but I thought it better to await reactions following the introduction of the Animals Bill.
