HC Deb 04 February 1970 vol 795 c430
Mr. William Price

On a point of order. May I ask for your guidance, Mr. Speaker? Arising out of the debate last night on prices and incomes, certain remarks reported in The Times newspaper this morning were attributed to me—

Mr. Speaker

Order. We cannot discuss yesterday's business in the House.

Mr. Price

I accept that, Mr. Speaker. All that I wanted to ask you was this: would I be in order in pointing out that those remarks were not directed at the hon. Member for Worthing (Mr. Higgins)?

Mr. Speaker

I appreciate the hon. Gentleman's motive, but we cannot have an inquest in the House on what took place the day before.
