HC Deb 16 April 1970 vol 799 c1558
14. Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the average time spent away from the United Kingdom service of the British policemen in Anguilla.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Three months.

Mr. Marten

I should like to ask the Minister two questions. First, how many of these policemen are still there? Secondly, why are they still there?

Mr. Rees

I suggest that the hon. Gentleman puts his second question to my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary. This Department is not responsible for policy. I know that there is a good reason.

The establishment of the units in 84 police officers and two technicians. The strength is the same.
