HC Deb 15 April 1970 vol 799 c1381
41. Mr. Kitson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what will be the cost to the agricultural industry on the increase in telephone charges over the next 12 months.

Mr. Mackie

The total cost to agriculture in a full year is estimated at about £½ million on all products, and about £¼ million on guaranteed products.

Mr. Kitson

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say how long it will be before increased costs wipe out any surplus which farmers may have received in the last Price Review?

Mr. Mackie

No. As the hon. Member well knows, it is very difficult to project forward what costs will be. As he also knows, however, these costs are considered at the Price Review the following year.
