asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many men and how many women were employed or self-employed full time in farm businesses in the United Kingdom and in Cornwall, respectively, in 1951, 1964, and the latest year for which figures are available.

As the reply contains a number of figures, I will, with permission, circulate the available information in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the available information:

in the speed of amalgamations and in the decline in the number of holdings. We presume that they will continue as at present, but it is very difficult to project very far forward.
