§ 38. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Attorney-General when he expects to get the report on the practice known as cube-cutting; what is the reason for the delay in completing these investigations; and whether he will make a statement.
§ The Solicitor-GeneralI am unable to give my hon. Friend an estimate of when I expect to receive this Report. As my right hon. and learned Friend told him on 30th June, 1969 [Vol. 786, c. 30] the investigation has proved to be complicated and considerable. It necessitates an examination of the circumstances of many hundreds of different transactions, and documents involving a large number of companies. I am satisfied, however, that every effort is being made to complete the investigation as soon as possible.
