asked the Minister of Public Building and Works when the final report on building maintenance will be published.

Mr. Loughlin

Although the committee does not expect to complete its next general report until early in 1971, we intend publishing papers on aspects of its work at intervals during the next year.

Mr. Boyden

I congratulate my hon. Friend on the reports which have been issued so far. In view of the complications of the subject and the fact that the best maintenance often is not widely known, will he make a special effort to ensure that the reports and the information available have the maximum spread in the building industry?

Mr. Loughlin

Certainly we shall ensure that the greatest publicity is given. We shall disseminate as far as possible the research papers and reports from the various sub-committees. My hon. Friend was the original chairman of the Committee, and we recognise that it is only within the last few years that there has been any idea of the real costs of maintenance.
