§ Mr. AllasonI beg to present a Petition containing 2,094 signatures from my constituency. The Petition reads :
To the Honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled The Humble Petition of the residents of Aldbury, Flamstead, Gaddesden Row, Great Gaddesden, Little Gaddesden, Northchurch, Patten End, Tring, Wigginton and their neighbourhoods, presented at the Meeting of Protest held at Little Gaddesden in the County of Hertfordshire on 16th October, 1969, Showeth that whereasand here follows a statement of the severe and ever-increasing interference to amenity by day and night by low-flying aircraft from Luton Airport. The petitioners complain that there is no authority controlling the airport in the interests of the community as a whole. The Petition concludes :Wherefore your petitioners pray that your Honourable House will take steps to establish a policy for the direction and control of this inland Airport which at this moment is in a position to do untold harm to the lives and amenities of those represented by this petition. And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.To lie upon the Table.
