1. Mr. Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many men, women and juveniles are registered as unemployed at the Brixton Employment Exchange; and what were the comparative figures for 1967 and 1968.

As the reply consists of a table of figures, I will with permission circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

While awaiting the circulation of those figures, may I ask my hon. Friend to what extent the total figures of unemployment have risen or fallen since last year?

If we compare the figure at 11th March, 1968, with that at 10th March, 1969, the total is down in the 12 months by 1,037, of whom 855 are men.
