HC Deb 12 March 1969 vol 779 cc1346-7
5. Mr. Doig

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is satisfied with the fire precautions in schools in Dundee; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Millan

I understand from Dundee Education Authority that the Angus Area Firemaster and his staff have, at the education authority's request, embarked on a programme of visits to each of the education authority's schools, so that if there are any deficiencies, steps can be taken to remedy them. I have no evidence however, that the position generally is unsatisfactory.

Mr. Doig

I thank my hon. Friend for that reply, which will go a long way to relieve the anxiety indicated to me by correspondence from a number of parents with children at school.

Mr. Millan

I am obliged.
