HC Deb 18 June 1969 vol 785 cc477-8
17. Mr. Onslow

asked the President of the Board of Trade what consultations he has had with the Chairman of British European Airways concerning the corporation's future aircraft requirements; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. William Rodgers

We are in close touch with B.E.A. but it has not yet made any proposals to us.

Mr. Onslow

Although I understand that it is very difficult to get firm dates out of the Board of Trade, can the Minister say what target dates he sees as being necessary for a firm decision on the BAC311?

Mr. Rodgers

It is now for B.E.A. to come back to us with firm proposals. The consequences of these for the BAC311 or any other aircraft are a matter which we would have to consider with B.E.A. and with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Technology.
