§ 39. Mr. Dewarasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will implement that section of the Police Act 1964 which would enable a person to sue a chief constable as representing a police authority rather than the individual police officer against whom he may have grounds for action.
§ Mr. RossYes, Sir. The relevant legislation is now Section 39 of the Police (Scotland) Act, 1967, and I have made an Order bringing this section into operation on 1st January, 1970.
