HC Deb 04 December 1969 vol 792 c1714
Mrs. Ewing

As we reached only Question No. Q1 to the Prime Minister, and No. Q3 was not answered, and, therefore, apparently Scotland's vital statistics remain veiled in mystery, I wonder, Mr. Speaker, whether you would use your influence with the Prime Minister to urge him to cut down the length of his Answers, and thus increase his own productivity?

Mr. Speaker

I make no comment on vital statistics. As a matter of fact—and this is why I corrected the hon. Member for Smethwick (Mr. Faulds)—we dealt with four Questions. The Prime Minister was dealing with four Questions on Europe, at a rather interesting stage in the whole matter of Europe, and I thought it right to let it run as I did.
