Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make new provision in relation to the finances of the British European Airways Corporation, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (1) the remission, on such terms as may be provided in that Act, of any obligation of the Corporation to make payments under section 42 of the Finance Act, 1956, section 3 of the Air Corporations Act, 1962 or section 8 of the Air Corporations Act, 1967 in respect of sums advanced under those sections before 1st April, 1968;
  2. (2) the transfer to the Treasury, on such terms as may be so provided, of all rights and liabilities of the Corporation in respect of stock issued before 1st April, 1968 under the Air Corporations Act, 1949 or any enactment repealed by that Act and the treatment of that stock as if it had been created and issued under the National Loans Act, 1968;
  3. (3) the payment out of the National Loans Fund of any sums required by the Treasury for making payments to the Corporation under transitional provisions of the said Act of the present Session relating to the matters mentioned in paragraphs (1) and (2) above;
  4. (4) any increase in the sums payable out of moneys provided by Parliament which is attributable to any provision of the said Act of the present Session for applying section 14 of the Air Corporations Act, 1967 to the Corporation;
  5. (5) the payment into the Consolidated Fund or the National Loans Fund of any sums required to be so paid by virtue of any provision of the said Act of the present Session.—[Mr. William Rodgers.]
