HC Deb 22 April 1969 vol 782 c245
21. Mr. Strauss

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what parts of the site previously allocated for the British Museum's library have been sold or are being offered for sale.

Mr. Mellish

None, Sir. As I indicated in the House on 27th November, 1967, I am awaiting the Dainton Committee Report before taking action to dispose of the properties my Ministry has acquired by voluntary purchase.—[Vol. 755, c. 8–9.]

Mr. Strauss

Is my right hon. Friend aware that his answer will give great satisfaction to those who are interested in the welfare of the British Museum?
