HC Deb 21 April 1969 vol 782 c22
35. Sir R. Russell

asked the Minister of Transport when he proposes, under the Transport Act, 1968, to reduce the hours worked by transport drivers.

Mr. Carmichael

I have nothing to add at present to the reply given to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Cathcart (Mr. Edward M. Taylor) on 3rd February.—[Vol. 777, c. 18.]

Sir R. Russell

Can the hon. Gentleman say why there is this delay?

Mr. Carmichael

My right hon. Friend intends to make an announcement soon, but he still has to complete consultations with organisations of trade unions and employers.
