Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Motion made, and Question, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session relating to finance, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (1) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any increase in the sums so payable under the Selective Employment Payments Act 1966 which is attributable to any provision of that Act of the present Session—
    1. (a) amending the definition of Standard Industrial Classification in section 10(1) of that Act by substituting for the reference to the 1963 edition of that Classification a reference to the 1968 edition thereof; or
    2. (b) amending the definition of non-qualifying activities in the said section 10(1); or
    3. (c) providing for relief from selective employment tax by way of the payment to employers of amounts not exceeding the amount of that tax paid by them; or
    4. (d) increasing the amount of that tax;
  2. (2) any increase in the sums to be issued out of the National Loans Fund which is attributable to any provision of that Act of the present Session increasing the limit in section 2(1) of the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1950 on the sums which may be advanced to the Exchequer of Northern Ireland by way of loan under that section;
  3. (3) any increase in the sums to be issued out of the National Loans Fund which is attributable to any extension of the power of borrowing under the National Loans Act 1968.—[Mr. Roy Jenkins.]
