§ 18. Mr. Dobsonasked the Posmaster-General whether, in view of the staff shortages at Burnham Radio, he will give an undertaking not to withdraw the ship letter telegram service from ships.
§ Mr. StonehouseAt present it is not my intention to suspend the service.
§ Mr. DobsonWhile I am grateful for that intimation, may I ask my right hon. Friend to go further? He must be aware that there is a drop of commitments in this station due to staff shortages. How long will he allow this to go on before he has to think seriously about with-drawing the services for ships at sea, which are very important indeed?
§ Mr. StonehouseI agree about the importance of this situation and I will keep it under close review.
