asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to revise the Transit of Poultry Order 1919.

Mr. John Mackie

This Order provides valuable protection for poultry in transit, but there are some particulars in which it could be improved. Proposals for a revised Order are now being prepared in readiness for discussion with the interested organisations. I am, however, unable to say when the revised Order will be ready for laying before the House.

Miss Quennell

This is even worse. Is the hon. Gentleman aware that he promised to revise this Order a long time ago? The present Order is more appropriate to the bicycle age. Will he pull his thumbs out and get on with it?
