§ 19. Mr. Michael Shawasked the President of the Board of Trade how many requests he has had from firms for exemption from the requirements of the Companies Act 1967 to disclose information regarding matters not previously required to be disclosed by exempt private companies.
§ Mr. ShawThese are early days for the working of the 1967 Act. Would the Minister confirm that all experience on disclosure gleaned between now and the promised new Act, which we are told is to be introduced before the end of this Parliament will be looked at with an open mind when the new legislation is being prepared?
§ Mr. DellWe are watching what happens as a result of the provisions on disclosure in the 1967 Companies Act. But none of the figures available to us justify any of the fears about disclosure expressed on the benches opposite.
