§ 28. Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Public Building and Works what progress he has made in his discussions with 1214 the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, on techniques relevant to the construction industry.
§ Mr. MellishMy right hon. Friend the Minister of Technology and I have agreed that any facilities at the Royal Aircraft Establishment which are suitable and available will be used to help the construction industry. Ways of extending the close co-operation which already exists between the Royal Aircraft Establishment and the Building Research Station are being examined.
§ Mr. DalyellMy right hon. Friend has personally taken a great deal of trouble in this matter, for which I thank him. Will he say whether any results are expected in the matter of condensation in new housing, which is a great problem that perhaps could be solved at Farnborough?
§ Mr. MellishI cannot give an answer to that, but in reply to the representations which have been made to me personally I have taken this matter up with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government. My hon. Friend is quite right in suggesting that research facilities which are available should be made available to the Government as a whole and not only to a particular Department.
